Assalamualaikum.
What conditions did God set that allowed Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to draw the sword against his enemies? Lets have your point of view first so that I know I am not just arguing for no reason.

I guess we will go in circles then we will find out that we agree with each other already in the first place. Therefore, please show us which part of Maro's post you didn't like and how did you interpret what she said.
Don't forget to have a look at this thread to find out whether we are on the same page or not. Muhammad's Sword !!! Thank you for starting this thread instead of going off-topic on the other one. ![]()

First of all, i find it very strange that just because a Muslim said we have to fight for our purpose you took it as she is raising the sword. For God's sake, she is studying medicine and will be a doctor soon insha'Allah. If someone who claim to be muslim interpret it in this way so i don't blame the non-muslims when they accuse us of so many false charges.
If i said, i'll fight for my right till death, does that mean i'll use violence to achieve that? Please think and don't interpret it in a negative way. Again, regarding my opinion, yes, prophet Mohammed raised not only one sword, but many, but for the right purpose, based on Allah's instructions. You will understand my position CLEARLY if you really read what i was trying to say in that thread.

By the way, please drop by for supper on Saturday -- if you have not blown yourself up yet. I simply do not understand why so many people think there is so much misunderstanding in this world.

Sunstone ... lol ... and thanks but you should save your frubals for someone else. I don't deserve any. Everything I say is copy/paste or paraphrase.
Abu, Maro was discussing Ayani's question about forgiveness versus revenge. So in the context I believe it did mean violence when it was said "fight for truth" and "struggle for truth". Maro could best answer this though.

Thats funny Our Prophet was logical, forgiveness is better than revenge but still this is our right to pursue the matter further within the instructions of Islam. It is not only Our prophet that drew the sword, dont tell me Jesus PBUH didnt, Read the bible again. Moses did, Krishna did, Rame Did, why because fighting for a good cause is right, just like whats happening in Palestine.

As in insulting his religious-legal opponents and violently clearing the temple in Yerushalem? Yeah, I think that qualifies.
