Christian: Homosexuality a sin? (Jesus Christ, moral, Leviticus, Kingdom, choice)

This isn't a debate, per se, but I'm just curious why some "Christians" think homosexuality is not a sin. CNN did a piece on this, about a month or two ago, of "Christian" churches that specifically welcome homosexuals, and it seems pretty strange that a church would do this in light of scripture. Just wondering what your opinion is and why you have that opinion.

I believe that homosexuality is wrong because of these verses:

Leviticus 18:22 (NIV) Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

Romans 1:26-27 (NIV) 26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NIV) 9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

It is notable that the 10 Commandments and Jesus never once condemned homosexuality, so it couldn't have been such a big deal!

I believe that homosexuality is wrong because of these verses:

I agree, God is the Law Giver, He gets to decide what is right and wrong and He has said that it is a sin. I am not one to argue with God.

Define "Homosexuality." By homosexuality, do you mean feeling sexually attracted to someone of the same sex or engaging in sexual behavior with someone of the same sex?

In and of itself, homosexuality is not a sin. Acting on homosexual desires, though, is.

Hmmm... my church may have been one of them. CNN did a piece on us recently tho I don't remember what the gist of it was about. We are certainly a welcoming congregation.

There are dozens of commandments in Leviticus, perhaps hundreds. Yet all the "good Christians" who hold up this verse to justify being against homosexuals and say that we cannot ignore God's commandments seem to ignore the rest of Leviticus. You want to quote the writings of Paul, a man who was so fixated on sex that he thought we should all be celibate, fine. But you have no credibility quoting that verse of Leviticus if you are going to ignore all the other stuff about not eating pork or shellfish, not eating meat and dairy together, not wearing cloth of mixed fibers, not shaving your sideburns, not having sex with your wife after her period until she has been purified, and stoning someone to death if he works on the Sabbath, etc, etc, etc, ....
