Regarding choices where do you draw the line, that is using irrational logic to say we are not responsible for our behavior,actions or feelings.

I find your post here rather offensive, in that you appear to judge those of us who do not espouse a literalistic hermeneutic, and you have concluded that our Christian nature is somehow in doubt or in question. However, regardless of your opinion, Christ always chooses love, grace, mercy, forgearance and tolerance. So do I.

If sin is a destructive thing and the bible lists homosexuality as a sin, then you have to argue that homosexuality, by nature, is destructive.

Having friendships of any kind is rarely destructive, with the exception of manipulative friendships. However, romantic relationships are much more powerful than simple friendships. The closer relationship you have with someone, the more of yourself you share. Sex is the ultimate expression of love towards someone.

I would argue that a good reasoning for homosexuality being destructive is because it (as well as sex outside of marriage) is ultimately very selfish. You are taking love from someone without giving back commitment. It is a purely sensual act, meant to bring yourself comfort.

Now, if there is a homosexual Christian that will attest a contradiction to this, I would like to hear it. Is the desire for intimacy with someone of the same sex coming from real love or is it to satisfy yourself?

Yeah...homosexuals are fighting for the right to get married because they are so much more averse to real committment than heterosexuals are.

Seems to me that instead of looking to see if homosexuality is destructive, you are looking to "prove" it is.

Actually, I don't support same sex marriage, but that's a TOTALLY different issue about the definition of marriage.

If you want me to get into the grit of things, here goes...

Homosexuals have made the unfortunate mistake of choosing their sexuality as a basis for their identity, even though sex is something very personal and private between yourself and another person. Does that make sense?

The reason for this is because many people believe that homosexuality is wrong, so they have interwoven their sexual preferences with their identity as a defense. This would be OK if sexuality was something definitive, like race or religion, but it isn't. Heterosexuals can have homosexual tendencies, as well as many other tendencies. People who call themselves homosexual sometimes end up falling in love with someone of the opposite gender. Sex is very ambiguous.

I did. I said selfish ambition of sex is not love. I see homosexuality as just another selfish ambition.
