Attraction is just looking, lust is thinking about having sex with her. Only a dead person would not notice a beautiful person.

Quote:
Homosexuality is only a sin, inasmuch as it hinders us from participating fully in God. I'm not convinced that, in a vaccuum, homosexuality does that. It might in certain cultural settings, but in 21st century America, at least, it does not.

Homosexuality is not a Sin
I don't believe that God could make something over which a human has no choice a sin.

Is it a sin for a cleptomanic to steal or a sociopath to kill?

A sociopath ? Having looked that up, I find it has the same meaning as "psychopath "; from what I understand, psychopaths have no ability to have a conscience.............how therefore, could they sin?

Quoting Leviticus is just plain hypocritical. Would you stone your children to death if they were persistently disobedient or disrespectful? Would you stone someone for working on the sabbath?
As for Paul, I don't agree with him on every point. I mostly read the gospels and try to understand their meaning. I believe in loving God -- letting love and grace flow through me -- and loving my neighbor. I don't see how homosexuality conflicts with this. Also, though I think one can find comfort and insight in the scriptures, I do not use them to justify ignorance in a 21st century world. For instance, am I to determine that the world is flat because the bible mentions "the four corners of the earth" or am I to heed the results of science? Paul's ignorance is no excuse for my own. Alright, thanks for answering my question everyone. It's pretty much just as I thought. Christians, or rather people who claim to be Christians, who say that homosexuality isn't a sin are one's that pretty much just ignore what the Bible says and follow their own ideas. I think I'll stick to what God has said about himself, rather than trying to make up my own ideas about what God is like.
