Any time I post in the middle of a thread it kills the thread, should I take that as a compliment?

Think Rock n' Roll and the 70's and the band WHO newspapers once called "the richest vandals in the world." (Maybe I should make a thread for this. A rock and roll scavanger hunt.)

Hey Comprehend,
I have about 12 pages printed out from your official Mormon sources. I can honestly say that I disagree with most of it through a quick overview. My theology is Protestant Reformed evangelical. Therefore, nothing is new under the sun in my proclamation of the gospel. What is so puzzling about this entire debate over the last several weeks is the great desire for LDS members to be acknowledged as Christian brothers and sisters with evangelical Christians. Why is that? What does it matter if evangelicals accept you as fellow Christians? This will never happen in our life time. We believe in radically different things about essential biblical doctrine. It was so much easier when the LDS church just boldly proclaimed traditional historical Christianity apostate. It's okay to proclaim the message of restoration of apostate Christianity, if that's what you truly believe. But don't expect to be received by the mainstream protestant churches with a restoration message along with official LDS doctrine. We simply believe in a different gospel and a different Christ. We do not have the same faith, or the same hope, or the same God. - BT |

So you can honestly say that no evangelical Christians accept us as brothers and sisters in Christ? Quote:
Edit: Not that you will read this, but I thought I might voice my concerns on your behavior. |

I know this question wasn't posed to me but I'm here and I'm gonna answer it. My answer is because we accept you. Christ wouldn't have wanted his church to be an exclusive club, I'm sure he knew dissention and disagreements would take place. The spirit teaches truth and we should be less concerned about where it comes from and more concerned about what we do with it. Our prophet has stated, and I'm of course paraphrasing, that we invite all members of all religions to bring their truth and we will add to it. You seem more interested in protecting what you have and rejecting anything that could conflict. Maybe keeping an open mind and heart would suit you as it has always suited us.

I read in the Mormon sources provided by Comprehend that the LDS church teaches a doctrine of an 'age of accountability. It appears FFH is saying chidren under the age of 8 are incapabe of sinning and are innocent. Behold the Word of God. Psalm 58:3: Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward and speak lies. Psalm 51:5: (David) Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. |
