So a person not saved by Christ cannot do any good works at all? That makes no sense. ![]() |

That's where I got it from; from just a clear glance at it, it looks you are excluding others (but on a second reading, I understand that you are not.) I apolgogize for the misunderstanding. |

The best way to reconcile faith and works, Paul and James, is through the entire books of Romans, Ephesians, Galatians, and James. If you want a shortcut, read Romans chapter 3. - BT

Someone told me faith isn't real faith without action. Because really what are you accomplishing by expressing your faith by watching tv 24/7. Not saying I'm a great example, I got a long way to go. What do you guys think?

It sounds to me like he's saying our faith in the atonement of Christ leads us to do good works. We are changed in our hearts and become a new person and serve him by providing service to others.

I chose faith alone because:
1. I do not see Justification to be the same thing as being "saved" 2. I know what form Faith evidences itself. 3. I believe the works come in during the Sanctification process. Moro 6:4 4 And after they had been received unto baptism, and were wrought upon and cleansed by the power of the Holy Ghost, they were numbered among the people of the church of Christ; and their names were taken, that they might be remembered and nourished by the good word of God, to keep them in the right way, to keep them continually watchful unto prayer, relying alone upon the merits of Christ, who was the author and the finisher of their faith. 2 Ne 2:5 5 And men are instructed sufficiently that they know good from evil. And the law is given unto men. And by the law no flesh is justified; 1 Ne 10:6 6 Wherefore, all mankind were in a lost and in a fallen state, and ever would be save they should rely on this Redeemer.

In the Moroni 6:4 scripture that phrase that says, "to keep them in the right way," in reference to...well the rest of the verse. Would you say that pretty much says they still did the best they could as far as works go?
