The first time I remember seeing the term was in a "Storm Testament" book - which takes place in the early days of the church. Back then, the term Jack Mormon did mean "Someone sympathetic to the church, but not a member". The term has changed meanings over the years almost 180 degrees.

Honestly, google doesn't turn up much for "Jack Christian" or "Jack Catholic" and I've only heard the term with respect to Mormons. But it's such a good term we should use it for all the others too.

The area around Moab is spectacular in it's nature. It seems to have a feel of what I think the "wilderness" of Old Testament Israel.

Yeah, Moab...Zion.... reflecting our country's history of European descendants who think they're the new "chosen people" of God.

I just think the land is beautful and that's good enough for me.

It sounds like what I often hear these days: We now have christians and practising christians and there is a huge difference between the two.
