In the new testament in the book of acts, the christian's of the period sold their homes, visitied people in those persons homes and then made tents for themselves to sell and to live in. In my book it's OK for a christian to build their own home because a tent is a home. According to some though, buying or building your own home is a sin. I don't think that's right because who were they selling the tents to if not other christian's?! The bible says in the new testament not to mix in company with non-believers, no that means to me that the tents (homes/houses) were being sold to fellow christian's.
