They are no branch. They are a dead limb lying somewhere in the wilderness. A twig without a tree. An anathema. I would be emphatic about this, were I an LDS. But I won't tell you how to handle your own PR. Last edited by UltraViolet; 04-08-2008 at 06:18 AM. |

I would agree with you but I was speaking literally rather than figuratively. Their believes originated from the same source, historically. But if your are speaking of the validity of their beliefs, in realation to ours, then I would say they broke off and fell away. Their beliefs are a corruption of what they should believe.

I'm all for adults choosing to have multiple wives but I do not believe children should be married off. Eighteen and up, do what you want. Children, no.

Yes, but in this case the wives don't really have a choice in the matter, whether 18 or not.

And yes, there do seem to be a lot of crazies that have flocked to Texas in the past LOL! I guess there is a lot of land here where they can hide out.

Good to know that one of the teenage girl that was married to the 50 plus year old man who bore his child got some sence in her. Calling out for help and putting an end to that ranch. The ranch was made out to be like a chicken coop. The women laid the eggs. Sorry to put it in those terms.

I do not consider the FLDS Mormon in any degree. While they are a splinter group from the LDS Church, they are no more Mormon, than a Lutheran is Catholic. They are a breakaway group, closed, and IMO very troubled. Polygamy is against the law in all states that I know of. These people are in violation of the law and therefore are subject to its enforcement. A similar raid happened in Short Creek, AZ present day Colorado City and adjacent Hildale, UT in 1951. It went down with many similarities. UT and AZ authorities moved in and carted off children, women, and men. Some claim it was necessary others a boondoggle of problems. There are no winners in this FLDS communities and those that are charged with protection of the welfare of children and the abused. We should pray for them. As an active LDS Church member I hope all will pray for al |
