I actually know a Southern Baptist pastor that used the pages of a Bible to roll joints.

I normally use a hebrew/greek interlinear for reading and it helps one to learn the greek and hebrew at the same time. This is a very good interlinear though it uses the Wescott Hort Ms depending how deep you want to get into the Bible. [I am a newbie on this forum so I can't post links yet] Scripture4all [I also would like to know if anyone here is an expert in the Koine biblical greek] 2 of my favorites versions are Rotherham's [which is fairly literal] and Young LT.

I myself use the modern translation the Complete Jewish Bible, which uses a translation of the Tanakh (or, "Old Testament") based on the Masoretic text and JPS translations, and translates the extant Greek manuscripts for the Messianic Writings (or, "New Testament"). However, I wouldn't recommend it for non-Jews - the translation is specifically geared toward a Jewish cultural background (including common Yiddish/"Yinglish") terms in places where they translate in better than a truly English word.
