Because it was an old-style closed adoption, putting down the time would've made it tragically easy to track down the birth parents, so they never included that info. There were only 2 hospitals in my home town. Birth certificates for adopted kids were made more than a year after the birth, because for the first year the adoptive parents were "on probation" and they didn't want to finish the paper work until they knew your parents were really gonna be your parents. It made getting a passport interesting. I had to go to my congressman to get it to go through. |
