AMSTERDAM: Dutch doctors have ended the lives of babies born with disabilities but have not been charged despite euthanasia being illegal for children, a study says.
The study, published in the latest edition of the Dutch Journal of Medicine on Saturday, found doctors had reported 22 cases between 1997 and 2004 of euthanasia of babies with spina bifida, a disabling birth defect affecting the spin http://www.religionnewsblog.com/10017

I had a cousin born with Spina Bifida, she died within a few weeks of being home from the hospital. Now every pregnant woman in my family has to get a test at a certain time during their pregnancy to see if the baby will have it. It involves a big, painful needle being inserted in through the belly button. Not fun.
