At the same time, a bank was robbed (the robbers were never caught), 3 people were murdered (killers at large) and 200 elderly people were talked out of their social security earnings by corrupt businessmen, who won't be discovered until they have spent every penny.

Maybe we should all just get stoned and look for the real crooks

Excuse my ignorance on this..i am not into the whole pot thing..but why are some people so passionate about legalizing it? What makes it different than other recreational drugs that don't have such a fierce loyalty from it's users?

I don't smoke pot, but I feel very strongly about legalizing it just because it is a waste of resources fighting it when it really does no harm. I feel that the police have to waste to much energy battling this not so harmful substance, when they could be stopping violence.

Actually it does do harm. Self harm. But I can see what you are saying about it it taking away from law enforcement efforts on violence.

Can you explain this harm, and show valid evidence for it? The truth is, there is no empirical evidence of marijuana doing any harm to people, whereas there is much for it's benefits. It is certainly less harmful then alcohol or tobacco.

I will agree that it is dangerous to inhale any smoke, but in that respect they are no worse then tobacco, in fact, they are better because of the added ingredients in cigarretes.

I read them not a lot of sources for the studies in them. To be honest I am really kinda apathtic to others use of it. I am baffled though by why someone would to recreationally use a substance that makes them slow, sluggish, tired and weak..weak meaning energy draining......its kinda strange that it is so popular..........

As long as cigarettes are legal (which I don't think they should be), and alcohol is legal, pot shouldn't be illegal.

I found out recently that someone in my family smokes regularly. Should this person be in jail? Absolutely not. This falls under the category of "victimless crimes," and I don't believe those should be punished. Were a person to be negligent of his/her child because of it, or force someone to breathe in the smoke, I'd have a problem. But as long as it is only hurting the person who chose to use it, I have no issues. The problem I have with cigarettes is that people are rude about it and smoke in public places, where we all have to breathe.
