I hope this does not sound ignorant but how does somebody get addticted to something they can not injest or put in their body? Getting addicted to porn makes about as much sense to me as be addicted to music?

And some people are..addicted to music.

There are different types of addiction.

For example marijuana has no characteristic that would make it physically addictive yet I personally know people who simply cannot get through a day without it.

It`s a habitual mental addiction, they`ve trained themselves to go through those motions and find it diffcult to give it up.

Old habits are hard to break.

Im addicted to music. I even have to have my radio on when I sleep or I can't sleep. Certain types of video games have a reputation of being highly addictive, like puzzle games and hack-and-slash.
