Atta boy Jimmy - you tell 'em! Spoken like a true leader of the Christian church.
This ought to be interesting - this kind of garbage is totally indefensible. I am the married father of two kids, and I only hope that they have enough sense to understand that this is exactly the type of garbage that turns most people away from all religions. Now, on to my ranting, frothing reaction to this fine gentleman of the cloth: If I were a Christian, I would be so upset about this. Why would you let someone that makes moronic statements like this ever speak for you? Wait, Wait - I've got it - I'll send him some of my money so that he may carry the message of God to even more people! Maybe some of our enlightened Christian friends can get on here and defend this. Please though - save me the "he isn't really a Christian" and "God says homosexuality is a sin". Let's just start with "I'm a bigot, and anyone that doesn't agree with my value system or morals is wrong". I'm listening......

No reason to follow the hyperlink to the video - the station that carried this broadcast has pulled the video after a citizen complained to the station manager. How shallow of them to deny Jimmy the right to cleanse a few more souls and lead the sheep out of the darkness. :retarded:

To Voice of Reason:
You're listening?! I don't think you'll hear what you're listening for! At least I hope you don't! I don't think ANY Christian will condone what that quack said! I think, or should I say hope, that most every Chrisitain thinks that Jimmy Swaggart IS A QUACK! I think people stopped listening to him years ago when he got caught with the prostitute. He may say that he is a "man of the cloth" but we all know that he's not! And the other poster is correct - Where is the outcry about what he said? I think he should be run out of his profession for inciting that kind of talk and behavior! He has no business being in a position of "authority". It's just a shame that he gets to be the one to represent Christian behavior. It gives us all a bad name and may even prevent others from coming to know the faith. Please, don't judge us all by that standard! |

DianJo -
I must apologize for my first post - under no circumstances do I think for a moment that this lunatic speaks for all followers of the Christian church. I would not paint a group of people with that broad brush. It is individual responses like yours that give me hope for the Theists in the world. I did not control my emotions when I first read the original post, but rather, I spewed out my knee-jerk reaction. That said, I also know that there are some knotheads out there that will try to defend this clown. Woof! TVOR

I used to go to a church that blindly supported Swaggart, Fawell and Pat Robinson.
("All hail the leaders of hypocricy!") I feel badly for the Christians that actually teach and practice love and tolerance to the world that these creatures have such a promininent voice in the media.
