Gunfire erupts at a rally against bridge deaths (USA Today)
Gunfire erupted Thursday when protesters marched toward the bridge where nearly 1,000 Shiites died in a stampede during a religious procession. Unaware of the protest, officers fired into the air, sparking shots from Shiites, which Sunnis returned from the rival town across the Tigris.
