Hello Guys,
I have a question here.. My brother sent me this email and I have another friend that responded (In Bold), Please give me your opinion on the facts. Thanks for your time Can a Muslim be a real American? In light of the murders at Ft. Hood by a Muslim Officer (who had sworn to defend the people, our Constitution and the United States ) this article becomes more timely and real than ever; Can a good Muslim be a good American? I sent that question to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years. The following is his reply: Brother's response Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia . Friends Answer - Islam is not based upon a moon God. “Among His Signs are the Night and the Day, and the Sun and the Moon. Adore not the sun and the moon, but adore God, Who created them, if it is Him ye wish to serve. “ (Quran, 41:37) Anyone that has lived in Saudi Arabia for 20 years and doesn’t know this is completely ignorant of the culture is which he is living. Which is what makes me think it’s made up. Interestingly, I wonder if these people realize that Christians consider Sunday the Sabbath strictly because the Emperor Constantine in Rome was a former pagan that worshipped the Sun God. Brother's response Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam. Friends Response Isn’t the whole book of revelations based upon taking the true believers of Christianity into Heaven, and condemning everyone else to Hell? That sure sounds accepting to me…haha. Brother's response Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran). Friend's Response The Five Pillars of Islam are: * Faith or belief in the Oneness of God and the finality of the prophethood of Muhammad * Saying daily prayers * Concern for and almsgiving to the needy * Self-purification through fasting * The pilgrimage to Mecca for those who are able Change Muhammad to Jesus, Mecca to Bethlehem, and it sure sounds like you’re talking about Christianity… Brother's Response Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day. Friends Response Does this mean that Jews can’t be good Americans? Their “allegiance” is to the holy city of Jerusalem. Brother's Response Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews. Friends Response Incorrect. Muslims can even marry other people in different faiths – Koran 5:5 Brother's Response Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction of America, the great Satan. Friends Response Mullahs are part of the Shia branch, not Sunni – the Sunni religious officials are called imams. Sunnis are a vast majority in Saudi Arabia, which anyone that actually lived there would know. Another strike for its truthfulness. Brother's Response Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him. Friends Response Didn’t the bible allow for multiple wives? "You will be eager for your husband and he will rule over you" -Genesis 3:16 "Wives be subservient to your husbands" -Ephesians 5:22 Brothers response Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt. Friends Response The Constitution wasn’t based upon Biblical principles. Most of the founding fathers were Deists. Brother's Response Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic. Wrong. Friends Response Turkey is both Muslim and Democratic. Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names. Friends Response Is this the same God that sends the 4 Horsemen to wipe out everyone that doesn’t believe in him? Therefore after much study and deliberation....perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish....it's still the truth. (Not only is it the truth, but it a reality this country as well as Europe must face damn soon or there will be hell to pay from these people!!!) If you find yourself intellectually in agreement with the above statements, perhaps you will share this with your friends. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. Pass it on Fellow Americans. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand. |

You're still here. Welcome to RF.
A more detailed response would be that the information in the OP ignores the political and social realities of the wide variety of predominantly Muslim states. Egypt, various Balkan states, Turkey and Indonesia is quite different from Saudi Arabia and Iran. Historically, the politics of Iran today is quite different than that of Iran from 50 or 60 years ago. In other words, painting a narrow and generalized picture of Muslims while ignoring the actual varieties in different Islamic cultures does not portray reality. Just like Christianity, there is no such thing as the religion of Islam. There are various forms of the religion. Using extremist views to portray the whole is illogical. Many of the responses in the OP are just wrong. The Constitution of the United States is not founded on Biblical principles. The supposed response to that fact doesn't even make sense. Addressing the various governments of those nations dominated by Islamic culture and comparing them to those of various non-Islamic nations and cultures would make more sense. It would also paint a more complex picture. Quote:
