Well, that sure is some dumb crap. I really am sad when I see stupidity like that stuff going on, trust me, I'm with you on that. But, I think there is an underlying problem there which is not religion itself, insufficient scientific literacy. Sure religion makes it harder to spread scientific literacy at times, but in fact I think ignorance is the real culprit behind that terrible (terrible indeed) state of affairs.

Co-incidentally, I happened to watch an illegal copy (I won't give him my money) of Ben Stein's Expelled. Wow. That was really a shame indeed. It really bothers me that someone could be so deceiving. I used to respect him, but I don't anymore at all. He broke all the ethics of journalism in that awful movie. I was very disappointed in him.

I haven't been on a lot lately to notice anything. My impression is that the proportion of non-theists is now a lot higher than when I joined. Anti-religious feeling is higher in that group. I am concerned at anti-religious opinions since I often find they are expressed in offensive ways. I'm anti-religious to a degree, but I'm sure I can chat without using hostile or ridiculing terms and phrases.

I could make a strong argument that ignorance and dogmatic religion are one and the same.
