Pagans and Satanism (beliefs, worship, Christians, Christ, paganism)

Pagans hate to be misunderstood, yet many buy into all the ridiculous false ideas surrounding Satanism and other paths- with no regard for whether or not they have learned truth.

Is this true?

Satanism is not the worship of Satan. That is Luciferism. Satanism is different and most certainly not evil.

It sounds to me that this writer was quite the bigot.

It is nice to be understood, but I doubt I'd be that angry if someone misunderstood me. By the way, the writer of this, is he a Christian? No offence to Christians, but writers like this often are (Fundamentalist, however).

I know some pagans who hate to be misunderstood, but others that just don't care. Personally I care, but I don't care. If they first misunderstand me, I calmly try to correct them, if they still misunderstand me, I humbly go about my business. People need to stop worrying about what other people think, they are entitled to their opinion, and they are entitled to be wrong. Like I said, I will try to correct them, but if they are closed minded bigots, I don't waste my time.

I like it when people understand me, to the extent that I will bend over backwards to try to make myself understood. That, however, is more intrinsically me than it is paganism. I grew up with a desire to be liked. The odd thing is is that paganism is actually helping me get over that urge. It's reminding me that my feelings and beliefs are valid, and that (as Master Vigil so eloquently put it) 'if they are closed minded bigots,' it's really not worth my time or energy. (Or empathy.)

I think that depends Soul, (and thank you for being so willing to stand up for my religion ) if someone misunderstands but has the will and intent to learn the truth behind their misconceptions, then I am more than willing to teach them the truth behind what they thought. However, if someone misunderstands and refuses to hear what I have to say, simply because they choose to continue to believe what they do (and continue to consider me a "satanist" or condemn me to hell), then yes, I obviously dislike it, however I pay it no mind, because really, who wants to discuss anything with an ignorant, intolerant bigot? Not I.

Oh yes, aren't those fanatical Christian idealists just so much fun? Especially when attempting to condemn me to a hell I do not believe in.
