Evolution within religion

Evolution can be inccoperated into the ways some religous people act. For example, muslims eat with their right and and wipe their behind with there left. This is not a taught technique, this is in the genes.

So..

Hundreds of thousands of years ago, or what ever age is was when humans first became appearent on earth. I believe that most of them ate and wiped with the same hands. However, someone was born with a genetic mutation meaning that his body natural ate with one hand and wiped with the other, meaning, that he would be more likely to survive and pass his genes on. So this got pasted down for many generation and we are here now. Obviously, in todays age it wouldn't matter because we have untensils, toilet paper and we constantly wash are hands.

Or do a Google search on "Viral Memes". You'll find all kinds of material that, in my opinion, does a better job explaining the phenomenon than I could.

I can see an alternate explanation to "genetic mutation".

Someone discovered that if he ate with one hand and wiped with the other, his food no longer tasted like ******.

I think that's a lot more plausible than the behavior being caused by a genetic mutation.

I'm just glad my ancestors' genetic mutations resulted in both the ability to use utensils, as well as the propensity for hand washing prior to eating.

And you would be wrong. This has nothing to do with genetics or mutation. When feces was identified as unclean, the hand that took care of that became the one that was used the least. The left hand is the wiping hand because the majority of humanity is right handed. The reason it is very important in Islamic culture is the communal food bowl. Food is served in a large bowl and you scoop a serving out with your right hand. It is forbidden to use the left hand because it is the wiping hand and therefore unclean. This is why the punishment for theft is the cutting off of the right hand. You can no longer scoop your own food so if no one is willing to scoop for you, you will die of starvation.

But this is all cultural and has no basis in genetics.

I really don't think its genetic I think it has more to do with health and cultural ideals.
