The organization's mission statement

The group's primary issues of interest are 1.) The definition of the traditional family, 2.) Human sexuality, and 3.) Religious liberties.

The organizational objectives of FPN include:

• Educating Christians on important moral issues in public and corporate policy
• Confronting the culture by lifting a standard of righteousness in the public square
• Raising awareness of the harmful effects of immorality on families and communities
• Dissuading companies from condoning and/or sponsoring immoral behavior
• Promoting forgiveness and healing as an "alternative lifestyle" for people involved in the sin of homosexuality
• Supporting passage and enforcement of laws protecting families, people of faith, community standards of decency, and public health
• Encouraging corporate and public support for honoring America's Christian heritage
• Defending Biblical Christianity as the only answer to life's ultimate questions
• Equipping and networking Christians together for the purpose of preserving society and advancing the Kingdom of God
• Maintaining Christian humility and integrity in all aspects of the organization's endeavors

Does it seem to you, as it seems to me, that religious liberty in the eyes of the Family Policy Network means only a Christian liberty? With this seemly double standard, it is appropiate they lost the case

hehe.... yep.

I would say this this is a clear double standard.... unfortunately, this type of thing runs rampant in the Evangelical/Protestant world.

Freedom of religion for some it seems only means freedom of Christianity. You can follow any faith so long as you believe in Jesus... you can be Catholic, Luthran, Baptist, you know anything..

Legally they lost because unless they can show that the university was trying to promote belief in Islam - as opposed to just promoting better understanding - it's not a violation of separation of church and state. Institutions of education are allowed to educate, even if the education is about religion.

No I didn't, I find the idea of ideological double standards having a place in deciding the merits of a case rediculous.

With this seemly double standard, it is appropiate they lost the case

I see nothing in their mission statement that interferes with religious liberty.

I really don't think you are getting any of this.

Deciding the merits of a case are the courts perogative. They tend NOT to have double standards and are frequently shown the errors of their ways when they do.

It's not in the mission statement - it's in the actions of the Family Policy Network
