The points you posted apply to God and mans goals equally. So I am going to propose that the list does not lend a favoritims inandofitself to either party. I am going to further stipulate that God has not set forth a clear set of values and I base this on the following premises.
1) there are many religions in the world showing a diversity in connection to the divine 2) some religions like christianty alone have well over 300 versions showing further inter-faith incongruenty 3) God has never made a valid attempt to clear up descprencies within religion 4) values are diverse from culture to culture suggesting that they are relative to that society instead of absolute by design 5) Values are contingent upon the enviroment that one lives in and God has made no attempt to ever factor that in. From those stipulations I am going to deduce that one of the following is so 1) God has left man the duty to find what is moral 2) God has no favor to the actions of mankind 3) God is unaware of how to convey this info to mankind Irregardless of which is the closest, or correct man's humanity, while here on earth, and in this lifetime, is a responsiblity of man alone. Man has in the past, as a collectivly society and does today, show the ablity to augment a system of morality for which to live by and to superimpose one from a divine source which by the premises above is ambigious and untranslatable is to undermine the accomplishments of societies at large. |

Even when it's really dark and you trip over them on your way home? I would agree that, ideally, there should be no difference between man and god's values, except that there are so many different values ascribed to so many different gods, due to there being so many different men. It would be nearly impossible to get them all to agree. I will also deliberatly misinterpret Deut. 32. 8's last statement, by saying that the values, or attributes, you percieve god as having (or not having) are almost impossible to have on your own. For example, "Meggie's agenda: feed wild birds," contrasts in scale with "Meggie's god/desses agenda: provide air so that wild birds will have something to play with".

For my money, God's goals don't exist, since God has not seen fit to reveal himself to me. For that reason, I view "God's goals" as simply the goals of another man - claiming to know God's mind. At best, I find these goals dubious - unless, by sheer coincidence, I happen to respect that other man.
Ergo, I'll stick with my goals, or the goals of other men that I respect. TVOR PS - those Midianites needed killing!

I'll stick with my own values. I'm not sure that god has my best interests in mind....
