Its sad that thinking like this still exists today, not surprizing but sad. It has only been 40 some odd years since the civil rights movents of the 60's, it took a hundred years from the end of slavery to get that far. Racism won't be wiped out in a handfull of decades, it will take generations. We have come a long way but we arn't done yet.

Could be a whole new thread but maybe subservience is a part of mankind as well as dominance as we see it naturally in relationships, families, our job. It only takes a baby step to take those aspects of dominance and subservience and apply them to slavery. I would contend that conceptually, slavery exists within our heads as a bi product of our being a social species.

Makes me ashamed to be white after what many of the colonists and whites have done and are still doing to blacks. Perhaps the greatest people to ever walk this earth were Ghandi and Martin Luther King. Its a shame what happened to Dr. King though. I write stories and poetry at home and most of them deal with the irrational intolerance of people and their critical judgements and prejudices. I am still dumbstruck to know that it was only 40 years ago when blacks were still supressed and finally took a stand. The rank arrogance of the judgemental people still lingers here. Our stupidity lasted for so long!
