Why does the Bible only apply to Earth and mainly the Middle East? You would think if it is God inspired that the Universe and life elsewhere would be mentioned. What do you think?

My personal opinion is that it was really only meant for a certain people for a certain time.

It may be god inspired, but it was written by men in a time where technology was lacking and they had hardly any knowledge of the world outside of theirs. So it was only inspired, not the true WORD of god as some want it to be.

From a christian standpoint, it mentions nothing about other planets or extraterrestrial lifeforms because it doesn't need to. Perhaps God has a different plan in mind for other life forms. Perhaps those other life forms are not made in God's image as we humans are. Perhaps they were. No one knows. The point is that they are not mentioned because they do not need to be. Just some of my thoughts

What about the other humans in other places of the Earth at that time. Why would God just pick a few people in a certain area to give his message to?

God established a special convenant with the Israelites, but I'm sure he had relationships with other nations as well. But I think His special bond, his covenant was with Israel. Besides, proselysing (sp?) was perfectly fine and practiced among the Israelites. The truth is that God wanted (and still wants) praise from everyone on earth.
Psalm 117:1 - Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!

A large part of the Torah is a history (all be it the B-movie version) of the hebrew people and those they encountered.

This was the answer that someone else explained to me. I would think that a book that promotes Earthly unity and brotherhood (and sisterhood) would also mention the myriad of other entities that exist and include Universal brotherhood as well. Then there is the other side of reasoning that if life on other planets was discussed in THE BIBLE we could very well use that as an explanation that it was alien entities that were intervening with authors and characters of THE BIBLE instead of the angelic or holy forces of GOD. |
