Do we need organized religion to discover God? Can we be in touch with the Divine without a church? Can we have spiritual growth without church?

I heard that GOD is everywhere so I do not think organized religion is necessary in this aspect.

Not entirely necessary. I believe that many people can feel a greater bond of fellowship and belonging when organized believers come together to profess their faith to God. However, I feel that living a holy and spiritual life are more important than church.

Abraham discovered Y H V H at age three, the son of an idol maker. So one can discover God without organized religion. Organized religion is quite helpful in the study of the Word of God.

I think I do better with disorganized religion, myself, but I think that's just me.
In seriousness, though, there is certainly a vast need for organized religion. I think some humans, unfortunately, have a talent for taking a great thing and finding a way of using it to gain power, but I don't think that that statement applies to all of mankind.

Personally, I dislike organized religion. Well, not organized religion as a whole, but for me. I think that personal spiritual exploration is needed for a person to truly understand what it means. And I really, really don't like it when people want me to take place in a group prayer (happened at a basketball game, I was so shocked that I think I just stood there with my mouth open). If I want to open myself to god in a prayer or meditation that is to be a personal experience. But...that's just the way I like doing it.

I don't think it's necessary, but there are people like me who need structure and fellowship in a faith
. I believe that this is especially common in minority religions. I'm coming to realize that it's hard to be in the minority without a community.

Do We Need Organized Religion?
Yes. I provides the "monkey see, monkey do" factor. People feel more secure when they are surrounded by other people doing the same silly things.

I don't think we need organized religion. I'm not really organized, I do fine.
