Jesus died in his mid thirties. He was obviously a wise man, but would he have been wiser if he'd lived longer? If he had seen more of the world than he did? Would he have been wiser if he'd had a better education? What do you think?

According to what we are told about jesus, you would have to conclude that the possibility of him becoming wiser with age is irrellivent all together. According to what we know, he was gods beggotten son, and through jesus being here, god was simply protraying himself and his messages in the only way possible for us to comprehend, that being, seeing another being of our flesh talking to us. According to what we know about jesus, he knew of gods ways and intentions. And according to what we know. Nothing could be wiser than that because god is the ultimate anything that ever could be, to know his ways an intentions, to be his son? To hear his voice because of your brains mollecular makeup. Thats about as wise as it gets in my opinion? What do you think?

If Jesus is God then wouldnt he already have all of God's experiences and knowledge? If God is omniscient then there would be no way for Jesus to become any wiser than he already was.

According to Christians, wasn't Jesus not merely god, but also fully human? And if he was fully human, would he not be subject in his human aspect to the same things the rest of us are subject to? If so, I would think that Jesus, like all humans, had the capacity to learn from his experience, and to gain wisdom from his experience. Which implies that he could have gotten wiser had he lived longer.

Maybe you are right Sunstone, but this seems to imply that Jesus was not perfect since he had room for improvement.
If we accept just accept this, however, then I would agree with you that Jesus would have been capable of becoming wiser as he became older. A strange situation indeed though since he would have revealed more teachings to his followers which could have created a very different Christianity.

Jesus wiser? Heres jesus, how can it get "wiser" Hes in every child , the innnocence and purity of how children think, thats how jesus thought, he thought that way because he is the allmighty's SON. A dettatchment of the allmighty in the allmighty's likening. you cant get any wiser if your attatched to the all that ever will be. Because thats what you are. wiser is not an issue. It could be seen as a characteristic however, and that is the level at which your all contemplating this question. And your never going to conclude for sure, because in all relevents, jesus being wiser is irrellivent. He is a GOD. and wiseness is a state of human thinking. Jesus is a god. how wise he is or could become is not an issue with jesus what so ever. Its another level.

Of course, Zionic, if the historical Jesus was fully human (perhaps along with his being fully god), then just as any human can learn things, Jesus must have been able to learn things. Since there seems to be a relationship between learning and wisdom, it would seem to follow that Jesus could have become wiser, had he lived longer and learned more about this world.
I too have often wondered, Fluffy, what he would have taught had he lived longer? The Buddha lived for 80 years... Would Jesus have come closer and closer to teaching something similar to the Buddha had he too lived for 80 years?

I'll answer your question if you can answer my question.
Why do you consider Jesus just a wise man?
