So you took the word "amon" out of Ramon.... do you realize how sloppy and dishonest your posts are? My real name is Michael... would you assert I was named after President Eisenhower? After all... Michael is shortened to Mike... IKE.... .like IKE, Dwight Eisenhower's nickname. No. I was not named after Eisenhower... and your sloppy connections between Hebrew names and Egyptian gods are ridiculous. |

The first and only mention of Israel in Egyptian sources is in the Merneptah Stele of the 13th century BCE. the Egyptian word was "Isrir" not IsRaEl. the context of the Stele was the victory of the Egyptian army over an alliance mainly of the Libyans and the sea people, along with other forces, one of those forces who fought on the alliance was Israel. as you can see this is a very different context from the new age spoof we get here.
My young (I assume) friend, don't take offense of what Im about to say.. it would be nice to have serious and logical discussions of religion and world religions rather than incoherent material which does not make much sense and which will never find its way into any academic institution.

I take it poisonshady takes this rather serious because she is jewish. If someone had to analyse my name and say that it comes from some offensive nation, id be up in arms as well. But poisonshady....if its not the truth...dont worry...its just an observation he made. |

I'm with Poisonshady here.
Such connections are purely coincidental and in this case aren't even correct, because the ones you're using are English words, not Hebrew words.

..it's simply that reading this is painful to the eyes There are scholars around the world working to bring real information to light, then there is populistic pseudo-material that gets people hyped. its disturbing for people who spend time studying these topics, and perhaps even do it for a living. this is religious EDUCATION forum, we have to maintain at least some standards.

Israel is a title for prophet "Jacob" Peace be upon him Isra = [means] prisoner or slave El = Refers to Allah or Eloh or Elohim Thus, Isra-El means : Allah's slave or servant of Allah That means that Jacob -PBUH- was a rightous servant of Allah Who sold himself to Allah and didcated all his life to him in order to please him. So Jacob was written as a sensire servant of Allah . Sura "tsad" 38:45 45. And commemorate Our Servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, possessors of Power and Vision. 46. Verily We did choose them for a special (purpose)- proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter 47. They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good |
