How does this negate the possibility of evolution? I think it meshes quite well with theistic evolution.
Evolution, is not the creating force according to God,He is, end of story. Giving the fact that God declares he made the male and female, with the seed in them for the purpose fo mulitiplying, aas well as every tree, and herb baring plant.
The life was in the seed of the man and every other thing God created.
If you want to say it evolved, well in some sense of the word we evolved ,but only within the DNA that was within us.
It's easier for some to say we evolved from nothing to this sophisticated ,verbal speaking, highly complex makeup of trillions of cells that individually are more complex then the world's largest computer then to say we were created, and I suppose that will always be.

Hmm. Speaking as a non-Christian, it seems to me that the "whole Christian deal" is much more wrapped up in life, death and resurrection of Christ than it is in literal vs. metaphoric interpretations of Genesis. In fact, I think that the literalism required for Young Earth Creationism is one subset of the legalism that's decried in the New Testament: don't you think that worrying about details like these distracts people from the overarching message of love and faith in the Bible as a whole?
When a person comes into intimate personal relationship with Christ, there is nothing other than to fix our eyes and life on him, so your correct,The whole deal is wrapped up in the death burial and resurrection of Christ .
But as a christian, he opens my eyes and heart to the things of this world and causes me to express the love of God to others, not as a mere outward duty of sorts ,but as a an expression of the new nature I have within me, that is imparted through the Holy Ghost.
That subject is very much overlooked in this type of forum discussion, but is the essence and factor that distinguishes it from every other religion in the world.
When you have the Holy Spirit, your no longer the same..it can't be expressed but only expereinced.

I don't think this is an accurate assessment of the real situation. There are exceedingly few people who invest energy into disproving 6-day creation or undermining your brand of Christianity per se. However, there are many people (including many devout Christians) who want to learn as much as possible about life, the universe and everything, as well as how they came to be here and what will happen to them, and try their best to set aside their preconceptions and be led by the evidence. The overwhelming number of people who do this do end up with a conclusion that conflicts with the view you've put forward here, but this wasn't out of any effort to disprove your beliefs; it was just out of a desire to find the truth
.
Believe as you may, however, I do agree that many christians ,born again ,spirit filled Christians do want to learn, but are not so much placing their focus on this present world. We are told to fix our eyes on things above ,not on things below, meaning this temporall life. That is the investment a Christian makes, they see the eternal things more than the temporal, hoping to bring others into that palce.
The things that are seen are temporal, the things unseen they are eternal, that truth will only be experienced, not proven to you.

Science is the study of the universe. Depending on your religious inclinations, you might call it the study of the Works of God. In that regard, couldn't wilful denial of science be considered a form of blasphemy?
Who here is wilfully denying science, which really means knowledge, we are to pursue it not be consumed by it.
The knowledge of this world is foolishness to God, read 1 Cor 1,2 to see what Paul spoke of concerning God's view on worldly wisdom and knowledge.
It's not the study of science or the knowledge of the universe that displeases God ,it's when his creation worship the created things over the creator, that is blasphemy.
