Hate Crimes Bill: Transgender/priest attack troubling

A transgenered woman and priest are assaulted and physically attacked by 4 teens, and the judge releases them without bail.

In general, do you think transgendered people are treated equally and receive enough protection under the law?

This is only one case of why I think we have a long way to go before transgendered people are given full dignity under the law.

I see no evidence this person was attacked because of being "transgender"and whoever he/she was, a religious person came to the rescue. The victim was most likely a random choice by teen age thugs with nothing else to do.

I'm curious; where do you see evidence that religion tainted the decision in the court?

As for whether transgendered people see equal justice in the courts...No. Not at all. It's that way with anyone who is in general seen as social 'others' sadly.
