Confused thinking would result in the conclusion that "God" and "Ego" are one and the same, certainly...think about it. Your ego is the least godlike thing about you, yet through attachment and form you can project all the notions of Self into any sphere of power that exists in your mind, indefinitely. Yet it is not, cannot be, real in the sense that you want it to be; never is, and never will be. God and Ego share a symbolic relationship. Desire epitomizes both. Wake up to who you really are, and the firmament, so solid and unshakeable before, dissolves like ephemeral clouds in a fantasy paradise.

You don't need some silly invisible magic man in the sky in order for things to have value. We assign value to things using our own logic and innate compassion. It's all shaped by action and reaction, cause and effect, etc.

And the above is a manifestation of pedantic ego and far from compelling. Rather, it brilliantly demonstrates the principle that a little knowledge is little indeed.

Ego is the opposite of G-d.
If one believes in an Omnipresent and Omnipotent G-d then all creation is just a reveled manifestation of G-dlyness. In a sense we do not really exist as independent beings, all is one. It is just our ego saying I’m an independent. In its extreme form this is Atheism that says G-d does not exist. |
