Matter is eternal and has always existed, it has to be.
Matter is indestructible. you can only modify it's current form by applying different stimuli. So hence all matter in the universe has been in existence forever. If this is the case then there must have been a conscious choice made on behalf of all the matter in the unverse. this choice was to move. Something must have moved the first molecule or Atom at the beginnign of the unverse otherwise it would have remained in that state. It's the law of enertia. some kind of consiouness must have moved something from point A to point B in effect causing a chain reaction in the universe to organize all matter they way it currently is now. Think of it as Dominos. all the dominos are set up in an intricate fashion, Those dominos will continue to stand there unmoved unless acted upon by an outside force. once the first domino is tipped over, it hits the next one and so forth and causes all of the dominos in the array to move. this same principle applys to all matter in space, If it has always existed (which is proven by science) then there must have been a point in time where something moved. a conciousness that moved it and started this chain reaction.

Cosmology attempts to answer a lot of these questions.
Energy causes matter to move, and since like you say energy cannot be destroyed only transferred, it stands to reason that matter would continue to move. Also, just after the Big Bang there was not only matter but also anti-matter, the reaction between matter and anti-matter (ultimately resulting in the annihilation of all anti-matter) would have released more than enough energy to set the whole universe whizzing about frantically. Dark Energy is the posited reason that the universe continues to expand and expand at an ever increasing rate. Erm, what else. Quantum theory suggests that not everything requires a cause, that given enough time things will "just happen". For example, at the end of the universe when all matter is spread across spacetime at an almost infinite distance from the next speck of matter it has been suggested that the laws of physics could spontaneously change allowing each speck to bud off into its own baby universe and then expand Big Bang-wise.

In physical cosmology, dark energy is a hypothetical form of energy that permeates all of space and tends to increase the rate of expansion of the universe. Hypothetical - a proposition, or set of propositions, set forth as an explanation for the occurrence of some specified group of phenomena, either asserted merely as a provisional conjecture to guide investigation (working hypothesis) or accepted as highly probable in the light of established facts. -Dictionary.com In other words it is not proven that dark matter even exists, they suspect something they cannot prove the existence of to be the cause of expansion in the universe. Sounds alot like "Faith" to me. Quote:

A thing "exists" because you attach a word to your experience of it to mark it as a distinct thing. This is as much the case with "physics", "gravity", "matter" and "energy" as it is with "God", "love", and "Daddy."
If I don't have a thing in my experience that I associate with "God" then nothing in my Universe "denotes there is a God." Period. Quite regardless of what words you associate with your thoughts and experiences that bring things into existence for you.

In this universe, assuming you are real and the effects of gravity and enertia(no matter what we call them in name) are provable, my argument stands.

No, if something ceased to act or be acted upon it would exist in a state of non-action.
