The value of this life? (reject, salvation, beliefs, choice)

For those you of that believe in an afterlife I wanted to construct some premises and than if you find merit in them (I am guessing some will some won't ) ask you a questions:

Premises:

1) There is an after-life

2) The Afterlife is longer in duration than this life by a large margin, at least more than double and for many of your beliefs is indefinite in duration

3) The afterlife in comparison to this life is much less difficult in terms of hardships or sufferings or in many of your belief systems has no hardships or sufferings

4) The current barrier to your existence in the afterlife if your existence in this life. Once this life is concluded you have the opportunity to experience life in the afterlife.

If some or all of these four premises are true in your religious belief I have four questions:

1) In terms of ratio you assign to this life in comparison to the after-life if 1:1 was to say they are equal and 2:1 was to say the value of one was twice that of the latter. What is the ratio value you assign in ratio of each?

2) Based on your answer of number 1 if the afterlife received a ratio of equal or higher than 2:1 in comparison to this life, and you find merit in any of the premise 2-4 in accordance to your beliefs Why do you see a need to exist in this life at all?

3) If the answer is not a personal choice to question # 2 but instead "God's will" or some equivalent there of what is your theory on why God would want you to lived an existence of diminished value before living in the after-life?

4) If you accept premise # 1 and feel that those who do not accept your deity or any deity (atheists and agnostics) and further feel that their rejection will deny them access to the afterlife do you feel their existence in this life has less value than that of a believers because they will not make the transition to the better afterlife? If so why if not why not?

I broke it down into parts for that reason specifically. I couldn't work through it either if it wasn't in parts.

Start this way. For you is there an afterlife? If no (which is my answer) than you are done. You rejected premise # 1. If yes move to 2-4 and find them valid or invalid according to your belief system.

Based on the answers, according to your faith of 2-4 apply them the questions and qualify your answers. Maybe do one question at a time treating each as a different post.

Bill, that is where I am too. That there is no after-life. I am more targeting believers to find how that quantify the value of life comparing this life to their perceived after-life.

Your question
AFTER LIFE.
Its not a belief it is scinece that matter is neither created nor destroyed and so it is a change of form only. Same with our life. If the horizon is limited to this life then surely those who restict life to this one only is also correct as otherwise one may be too lethargic to achive salvation in his next birth and devote this one to indulge in sayifying one's desires.

I'll give it a go.

1) There is an after-life

I believe in an afterlife of sorts, though it's not really "after" per se but everhere and evernow, even while we are here and now. It is sort of a belief that I (or some version of "I") will always be here and now, even while afterlife is everhere and evernow.

The concept of "duration" is not applicable; my concept of afterlife is of something "eternal," which means it exists now and evernow.

3) The afterlife in comparison to this life is much less difficult in terms of hardships or sufferings or in many of your belief systems has no hardships or sufferings

A concept of afterlife that has no "hardship", no "suffering", no "difficulty" and no "comparison" considers those to be things of the mind, and afterlife to be not mindful. That which we now call "life" is mindful. But in having a concept of "afterlife" it is a thing of the mind, and so it has "hardship", "suffering", "difficulty" and "comparison". In my concept, afterlife is not much different from life.

4) The current barrier to your existence in the afterlife if your existence in this life. Once this life is concluded you have the opportunity to experience life in the afterlife.

Existence now is mindfulness. Existence evernow is afterlife. In my belief in afterlife I am mindful of afterlife. Existence now is not a barrier to afterlife, because afterlife is here and now just as it is everhere and evernow.

Everyone is living in afterlife and in life; some have yet to realize it.
