I'm assuming 'death' is when your consciousness ends. But nobody can know for sure whether it survives after your brain ceases to function

The questions are open-ended and I don't at any time ask you to assess the validity of an afterlife in any way. Your finger analogy which is a very poor analogy hints at your in-ability to assess your own belief system. Having said that if you can't assess how could you possibly assign value to it? If you can't assign value to it why does it matter if it exists or not? I don't understand your emotional drive without your ability of conceptualization.

minuscule is the quantifying word-choice. I was poking there because when you assess the value of one the other physical life vs post existence I figure duration has to be a factor of importance. I asked it to help me understand the landscape of the conclusions presented. For instance if you said, "about the same length" I would I assume impact the final analysis of the value of each when compared to your quantification of minuscule. I am assuming it as a variable of importance in yours and others evaluations.

I do know you conception of afterlife from prior posts on RF. Although 100 years is not likely Average human life spans in America at least, are about 25 years shorter. Having read this though...what is the point of this life if it is minuscule and much less rewarding than the afterlife? I mean does God say you have to hang here first and tough it out?

yeah I was trying to get a quantified feel for a side-by-side comparison of the two. Wanted to see if the perception is you are trading up on the next go-round and if so by how much.

I guess for the atheists in here we are all likely on the same page. I was more hoping for believers to quantify there perceived post-existence to their current existence as a possible tool for understanding how they find value and reason to live in this life.
