Apocalypse mythology? Nah. Its quaint but I think indulging such irrational whims is rather perverse when we have real issues like dwindling fossil fuels, climate change, the sixth known mass extinction and a lot of other uncomfortable stuff to contend with. The last thing you need on a sinking ship is a bunch of priests and priestesses wailing about end times and making symbolic gestures when there's water that needs bailing.
