What, exactly, was new in the Council of Trent? As a valid Ecumenical Council I certainly recognize it as valid, but you have to understand that Councils are legally convened assemblies for the purpose of discussing and regulating matters of church doctrine and discipline....and in certain cases: DOGMA.

Trent was a response to the heresy of Protestantism... look to the first seven councils if you'd like to see true examples of Tradition that are equal to Scripture.

Yep.... and there is a heirarchy of truths.... for instance priestly celibacy is not as important as the deity of Christ.

Are you sure priestly celibacy is considered sacred tradition? My point is that I'm not sure if you understand Orthodox Roman Catholicism according to the Catholic Magestrium.
