I think some of the atheists here should chill a bit and take in some of what's on offer. I think I learn something new and interesting every time I log in.

EDIT: Forgot to answer the OP. Of course it's a pain in the arse if someone is pestering you. I'm not sure that there is a recent trend here though. Arguing your case that people shouldn't be arguing their case is a little curious...eh?

It's ridiculous to suggest that people should be criticized for posting their beliefs about god in a forum specifically dedicated to religion.

I agree. But his post was ofcourse not only to the ones following religion, but the comparison with the ones that don't. I understand it though.

I agree as well. But if that member has 50+ posts you should laugh in his face and tell him not to go here. Although atheists don't believe in God doesn't mean they can't think very religious. It was the second time I read a comment like that that day and felt really like a 2nd rank member for not having a religion, but wanting to think about it.
Bah, I just guess it's that everlasting unnessecary battle between theists and atheists.

I can't speak for all theists on this forum, but for me, the intent of my comment was not to create "ranks." I stand by the context in which I made the comment. It was not directed at atheists in general. Several of the people whom I most admire on RF are atheists, and that's for the same reason I admire several theists - because they contribute intelligent insights to subjects in constructive ways.

But I do apologize for making you feel second-rank. It was certainly not intended.

I never understood either why someone would jump into the middle of a discussion just to say "It isn't true" or "I don't believe in it" with nothing else to add. If they say those things in conjunction with to a statement that is OK but why would they just say it for no reason? I know they have a perfect right to say it, but it isn't needed-- we know atheists don't believe in God or the Bible already.
I would say the same thing about someone who jumped into a evolution discussion just to say "I don't believe in evolution at all" with no explanation as to why.

I've run across it a few times. I make note of it and don't acknowledge it. I don't have any specific examples at this time as I am too lazy right now to do a search. It doesn't happen a lot but it had happened before.
