OK, the day comes for you to die. You die. After a brief spell of oblivion/non-consciousness whilst your psyche reconfigures, you are immensely surprised to find your soul-self in a spacious room where a rather charismatically attractive woman awaits you. There are three doors out of the room. After an exchange of pleasantries, the woman explains that you're physically dead and clears up confusions about what just happened to your spirit.
The woman tells you that you've got some serious Karma left to work off and you're going to be taking a new form (Reincarnating), but if you're interested she's got some jobs for you to do back on Earth. You feel pride and a sense of endowment at the thought of having this kind of purpose, and wonder what she wants you to do. But... You're looking towards the plain doors, and wondering what the other options are. She tells you that the door directly opposite leads back to Earth, the Universe and a new body. The other two lead to different places; one to Heaven of spiritual bliss and perpetual happiness, where you'll be tested and if you're worthy you'll be allowed to enter and stay for as long as you like, but if you're not worthy your soul will be deleted from Creation altogether -- and the other to Hell, where despite reports to the contrary you might actually enjoy it, because there it's all about physicaly immortality, sex, violence, pleasures of the senses and endless self-gratification, but you won't always be happy and there is ultimately no meaning to any of it. You ask about a fourth option: she says there is one, but she can't tell you about that until, or if, you choose it. There is no fifth option. You now have a quandry. You wonder about the woman, and various speculative thoughts spring to mind: could she be God? Or maybe the Devil? Or an Angel/Demon in disguise? Or perhaps some weird mind-program or creation of your own psyche? You don't know. But you must choose. Door 1 back to Earth with a purpose, Door 2 to Heaven and the chance of eternal bliss, Door 3 to Hell and lots of action and excitement - or the as yet undefined mystery Fourth Option. What is your choice going to be? Poll incl. Please discuss and feel free to comment according to whatever comes to mind, also. |

Cool thread Connor, frubals.
I'd choose door number 4 and hope for Oblivion, but if I'm denied that at least it'll be something utterly unknown, which is also cool.

Door 2. It's the only one without any chance of pain. And if I get "deleted" then it's not as if I'll be around to complain about it.
What happens if you decide you want to stay in the room with the attractive woman? |

I chose Door 1, back to Earth for me. I can't see where going back means implied pain, you might not come back as a human
.

True... though I'd rather not risk it.
