I do and you recieved frubals for your most insightful... insights. I especially like the last one. I think I do limit my scope of god to simply the god of the bible or the "official god(s)" of existing religions instead of making my own mind up about him/her/it.

Ya know I haven't looked up THING in a while but Thing is pretty all encompassing. It can be an object, an entity a person, and idea, a goal, a phobia even... I think you might want to reword that just for clarity's sake.

God might be covered by this definition of a thing for some:

Nonetheless... I don't know how you picture god personally but it was always described to me as an entity aware and judgeing of my every action who is upset with me because I am a sinful creation but who forgives me because his son died to take away my sins, but he didnt really die he just figuratively died on a cross (Jehovah witness's say it was stake not a cross but whatever) to a bunch of ancient people who didn't chose to write about him for like 30 years or something like that. (Granted I dont think you could goto walmart to get ink back then)

So thing seems to cover it.

It's why theists and atheists can sit side by side in UU congregations. I love God with all my heart and soul and might and feel that God is closer to me than any anthropomorphic deity with super powers could ever be, but I also think that the only way to serve God is to serve people and creation. There is no other "thing" to which we are beholden. And it certainly matters not whether one believes in this "thing" or not.
