I studied world religion for 6 years, I have a pretty good grip on Islam.

I would also like to say it is ignorant to think Islam is responsible for terrorist acts and if you believe that I invite you to look in the mirror. Starting in South America with the Catholics that are communist terrorists and move on to the Mafia and the drug cartel, who also have Christianity in common, I have seen these people blow up an entire city block to kill one person. How about North America lets bomb a medicine producing factory, and innocent civilians, hell lets just stick our nose everywhere it doesn't belong and wage war on these people for the next 20 years it might be good for the economy. From there move to Africa and see all the good Christians who steal the food from the poor and starving children and have a civil war every six months. How about the "Eastern Block" where the Christians were exterminating Muslims like they were roaches? The Western world never had a problem with Islam and it still really doesn't the radicals that have committed terrorist attacks were provoked by the West think about it.
Now that I have your attention think about the "terrorism" in the world and ask yourself who is the terrorist.

The UN sees the inhuman treatment of Tibet and Burma and does nothing because these countries have nothing to trade or offer, they have nothing the West wants and they are more oppressed and suffer more violence than Hussain ever dished out, think about that.

The leaders have no religion pure communists, the "religion is poison" deal, however the population of both countries are Buddhist and do not fight back they protest peacefully in most cases. My point wasn't really about religion per se it was more to the point of don't blame religion blame greed and the average Muslim, Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, etc. are not terrorists some terrorists just happen to be Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus and Buddhists.

I know what I know about Islam from reading the Qu'ran, scholarly works on the subject, talking to Muslims in real life (and elife), and I pay no more attention to what my teevee has to say about the subject than I do with any other religion, because the media do a terrible job here of covering religion no matter what religion it is.

And what I know about it is more than I would care to post here.

I do not know things about most religions...

I think that it is common over in the Europe area... Islam... hmmmmm.... Sorry... I don't know anything about it. But I really don't know a lot about most religions. I just don't care that much about stuff like that.
