Theory of Enlightenment (atheist)

Enlightenment is the merger of the left and right hemispheres of the brain, the merging of creative and logical processes. Left brain is represented by a square and right brain is represented by a circle. Left is logical, rational, intellectual. Right is creative, emotive and imaginative. Left is the past and future. Right is the present. Atheists square the circle, a logic dominated world. Enlightenment circles the square, leading to a more balanced approach.

If "squaring the circle" is a logic dominated world, wouldn't "circling the square" be a emotion dominated world? And would not a slight change in both square and circle towards the other be enlightenment?

Why is circling the square more desirable than squaring the circle?

I agree completely but I still think you should give atheists more credit . I personally feel that atheists weigh the left and right equally and it only appears as if the left is more important because many atheists react to those for whom the right is more important. In trying to establish the importance of the left as equal to the right, we end up being accused of not acknowledging the right's importance at all.

I think what is meant by "circling the square" is drawing a circle enjoined by the four points of the circumference of the square, not making a circle out of a square. The idea is that would lead to a more creative world, as the circle exists on the periphery of the square, but does not deform the shape and form of it (the square). What is left is a symbol for a more complete psyche, or consciousness.

But seriously, when Left-brain logic and rationale supercede Right-brain creativity and imagination, how enlightened can one be?

I could make a square around a circle, too, though.
