One should remember that Spinoza was a Jew of Portugese extgraction, they fled when the Moors were cast out of Spain and the Inquisition drove them to Portugal.
All in all Spinoza's mind was an outcome of the tolerant society of Moorish Spain. His family had beenp rominent in the Spanish/Moorish society, in Christian Spain they would have been murdered. Regards, Scott

That is pure baloney. John 3:16 belies it. And if Jesus is being so harmless now, in His return he is a destroyer of His enemies. There is no difference in the attributes of God between Judaism, Christianity and Islam. |

The Trinity really doesn't make sense from any perspective.

We get a sense of his position before he came to earth and it was separate from his god. He clearly explains this in the scripture. While here he speaks of his god and never of himself as if he was God. When he supposedly ascended we find that he and his god are not the same "being".......
Revelation 3:12 All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write my God's name on them, and they will be citizens in the city of my God--the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And they will have my new name inscribed upon them. He explicitly informs John he has a god. This one along with John 20:17 are completely explicit. One is before he ascended (which trinitarians say he was God in the flesh). The other is after the ascension. If he is (God)...then there is no reason for him to say he has a god. In revelation God sat on the throne receiving praise while the lamb enters and is the one worthy of opening the seals. Notice the word (worthy)...I don't think none of God's creation would ask him if he was worthy.

One odd thing about the Trinity concept is the Holy Spirit. Why does a supposed god "the father" need a spiritual "errand boy" running around doing the work for himself. Seems sort of lazy.

well... i would understand the holy spirit as God's spirit of inspiration, help, and guidance. that seems to be how early Christians would have understood the expression, too. the holy spirit is a gift of God, from God, and through Jesus, our Lord, Teacher, and Saviour.
right now i'm very new on this path... though i was raised Christian, i never really read the Bible or thought much about Jesus. i just kind of allowed myself to disagree with the abstract idea of the trinity and other church doctrines, without letting much faith in. maybe it wasn't the right time, then... i think we can say as Christians though, in the words of the Indian hymn my friend sings sometimes, "i have decided to follow Jesus". his life, his example, the hope and the miracle in his death and resurrection. he has said that if we come to him, we will have living waters, peace, and life. he will show us the way. so, i will with God's help read more, study, and pray on it.
