It should not be possible for a child of god to wonder about what is moral and what is not. We dont have the luxury of deciding that ourselves, instead we believe what god says is immoral is immoral. Hence there should be no confusion.

For me, its not a matter of what i like and dislike, its a matter of what god likes, doesnt like.

With that in mind, mball, my dislikes of what a certain group of people thinks is right, is because i believe my god dislikes it, not because of my personal preference. I have no personal preferences, and even if i did i had to make sure i correct them to fall in line with god's preferences.

Then why bother equipping us with thinking minds if we weren't meant to use them to examine, analyze and question things? If we have free will, shouldn't we think for ourselves rather than follow blindly like mindless automatons? There are thousands of religions in the word, each with their own little way of describing and defining god. Of course, what god does and does not like varies from religion to religion. So it's probably reasonable to conclude that it's just people projecting their own thoughts, feelings, hatreds, fears and egos through their gods. Your god, for example, merely represents the mindset and agendas of long dead bronze age goat herders.

Hello Father

God gave us minds so that we can tie our shoe laces and make ourselves some dinner.

And our minds are quite powerfull to do many other things for ourselves as well. However our minds cant save us.

Hence...since my god is pretty smart, and i believe he knows what is good for me and what is not, id rather follow his way of thinking about matters that could mean the hurting or deliverance of myself from that which would seperate me from him.

ps: i dont think he minds me having my own mind, he minds if i think im smarter than he is...i mean im not! Its not humility to think of myself as great as he is. It was his idea to make me one of his, not mine, and i am thankful for that.

There is nothing we need "saved" from.

My god does talk while i have a glass of water.

For whoever is thirsty, must come to him, and drink from him, and they will never be thirsty again.

Right, they are your God's likes and dislikes, which means they are yours. Your God's likes and dislikes were created by people like you. He doesn't like homosexuality because the guys who wrote the Bible didn't like it. He likes women to be subservient because the guys who wrote the Bible wanted it that way. Heck, God's a guy because it was guys who wrote the Bible. People rationalized banning interracial marriages and such by saying that God didn't like them (because those people didn't like them), and we know how that turned out.

What is wrong with atheism...they are mostly found on religious forums.

I still dont quite get that..

An atheist's mind is such a terrible thing to waste on a religious forum, unless atheism is a religion as well. So who is your super hero mball? Or is it youself? If that be the case would you save me too....lol....
