Also, it makes it more likely that others will do the same for me in the future. The best way to get respect is to give respect. Some would say this is common sense.

This is not in opposition to what you say, just saying the same thing in a different way.

LOL, except you want respect before you will give it. I dont get much of this LOOOOOVVVEEEE and respect from you. I guess you think i dont deserve it. Perhaps its the splinter you were talking about.

I've never disrespected you as a person. I've vehemently argued against some of your views, and you might take that as disrespect, but it could only be seen as so because of the lack of respect you've shown towards certain groups.

It's non-rational because it lacks foundation. Morality is a matter of personal likes and dislikes.

It seems to me that in practice most people's morals boil down to their likes and dislikes even when they rationalize those likes and dislikes by ascribing a metaphysical foundation to them.
