I have heard many Christians express their opinion that:
1. All those who accept Jesus are saved 2. All those who reject Jesus are not saved and 3. All those who never hear 1. and 2. are saved (so for example, some tribesman in Africa who hasn't even heard of Christianity, much less the divinity of Christ). If these things are true, then all Christians who truly want to save peoples' souls should keep Jesus' divinity, etc. a secret. Every person who goes through life without hearing the Gospel is another soul saved, and every time you tell a person about Jesus you are endangering their soul. By preaching and doing missionary work, you are in fact being counter productive to your objective of saving more souls! P.S. -- I confine my post to Christians, but I'm sure it applies to some Muslims and people of other faiths as well.

Given that I do not believe death without knowledge equates salvation, the rest of your post is inheritantly flawed(in my view at least). I would rather they know the joy of Jesus in this life. Plus Jesus told the apostles to go out to all nations preaching.

If we keep Jesus' divinity a secret, then we actually are not promoting others' salvation. If others do have a chance to know, and we are the only ones preventing them from knowing, then it becomes our fault if they go to hell. I personally think it's only those who have absolutely no chance of hearing the gospel, that God may make special allowances for, or reveal Himself to in some other way. Our responsibility is to sow the seed--once it is sown it is out of our hands. Not sharing the gospel when it is perfectly capable of being shared is simply like watching some calamity headed someone's way and not warning them. Which, of course, is cruel and heartless.

Hope-- So you are of the camp that believes that if a person never hears about Christianity or Jesus, that person will go to hell?
Ronald-- Here is the quote, in its entirety: "P.S. -- I confine my post to Christians, but I'm sure it applies to some Muslims and people of other faiths as well." [emphasis added]

mr spinkles, #3 is a matter of opinion, and even i agree with it as a matter of opinion.it is not a scripturally backed stance, so perhaps people consider continueing to spread their gospel in light of a chance that they are wrong.it is some christians belief that the gospel is in every human's nature, to do what is good in the eye of god whether or not they acknowledge his existance or even know about him.
