3:185 Every soul shall have a taste of death
hi dear friends, did you know that dozens of poets who lived during the time of the last Prophet of Allah did quit writing poems? when they heard Qur'an, they came to an conclusion that no better words could be spoken. so they refused writing poems any more. that is one poetic reaction i'd ever known. for me, unspoken words in Qur'an are important as much as those words chosen and said in original the text. that verse i wrote above is an example. to taste death- to taste! this certain history that we're given by religious source gave me this thoughts: we were all in heaven. to be born here, we died there. it was said Mohammed (PBUH) did stay alive on the both sides. i believe death is a kind of door. we just can't be in two rooms at the same time so we die. we go through that door to enter 'other world' those worlds explained as opposites. when i taste something, how do i feel? i actually donot feel anything at all. that's me! i donot feel because when i taste a food, i donot have time to judge during the time of tasting. only after i taste it, i can say i like it or not. i donot know how it works for you. i just take my self as an example. so i think, it is not possible to 'think' during the process of death. we would taste death because we donot really know how it feels like. logically it is not an option to judge what we donot know. since i believe death is a passage, to me, what matter is what it brings. when we die here, we would be born on the other world. so, it is a beginning. |

Death is a transition, that's all. Unfortunately , pain is usually involved in death.

Every change brings the death of something. Life is constant change. Life is constant dying to the old and being reborn to the new.

I think if you are truly reconciled to constant change, you will be reconciled to death.

death occures when heart stops. that causes brain death. do you think this cut off electricity of brain is similiar to change your car? however in the sense i kinda agree with you, still feels like physical death is much more different than daily/worldly changes. |

In principle, though? How is letting go of the past any different psychologically than physically dying?

what i see, feel and everything in my life are like those pages of the net. it constantly changes. but death is like to be unplugged. that communication that all the cells of my brain have with eachother, that energy goes off. |

The "soul" does not experience death as what we call death is experienced only by the temporal self the "soul" sends into this world. SInce the soul is deathless it can only "taste" the termination of the temporal self through the experience of that aspect of itself. Quote:
An interesting notion, but one that is incorrect. It is true that we forget our larger identity when incarnating into the physical world however it is a necessary reality so that we can focus on the new being we wish to become. That which gave us form does not die in order for us to live. Enegy doesn't work that way. But this is just supposition spoken by those without expert knowledge of the truth of the statement. It cannot be proven or disproven and so I would suggest that it was not true but simply a "tall tale" that grew up around the Prophet after his passing. I have a few theories about the likely source of Muhammed's {pbuh** visions and experiences, but it unlikely that Muslim's would entertain my thinking. |
