There's a small problem with this logic. It could be God that was given the bad rap. "A reputation fueled by rumor, faith, heresay, and biased writings."

If God actually does exist, perhaps this is his test to discover who the moral people really are. The ones who deny the Bible on the basis that Biblical God is an evil monster (which the Biblical God clearly is) will be the real God's favored ones.

Bit off topic, but I never could understand this, from what I unstand Angel don't have freewill so how could he chose.

The reason that you would deem a christian more trustworthy than a nonchristian is that they are answerable to God (as we all are) but they know what is expected of them, they have given their hearts to God so would be convicted if they behaved in a non christian like way, and as a christian you have to show the world how to live a rightous and honest life.(going by the Bible) It is more likely for an unsaved person to give into sin than a saved person, though not impossible.

Sorry, didnt read OP properly ,oops! I thought it was a case of why would you trust a christian more than a non christian, as K.purr said, christians believe in satan. Do you mean a satanist? Someone who worships satan?
I know it's not what you might have meant but what I get from this is that Non-Christians are not trustworthy, I feel alittle offended(only a little ^_^).

Greetings!

>Why is satan bad?

Very simple.

Because in the Baha'i view, "satan" refers not to some devil or evil spirit (there being no such thing), but to OUR OWN lower (animal) nature, when we give it control instead of our higher (spiritual) nature!

In a human, the animal nature is relatively bad (more self-centered and uncaring) compared to the spiritual nature.

(In animals, this isn't a problem as unlike humans, they have no eternal soul and are simply living and exhibiting their inherent qualities.)

Regards,

Bruce

Please don't be offended Azakel. Im saying this is what i think the reason is for why some may see a christian more trustworthy than a non christian. I ve seen some nonchristians behave better than some christians in my time so it is not always the case, but i do notice myself the difference that people do trust me more than before i was saved.

Also, angels have freewill as much as we do, otherwise how would satan have fallen?
Nice meeting you by the way!

First of all I dont believe in Satan but that's not the point. Bibically your only hearing one side of the bible, second I believe that he was trying to enlighten us not damn us.
It seemed that for some reason God wanted humans to be like sheep & the devil thought we should be able to think for ourselves.

You gonna be happy saying that to God on judgement day?
I'll proudly say something along those lines on judgment day.

Well, while God has committed mass genocide, on a scale that needs it's own term, Satan OTOH only killed 7 people in the Bible. God even sent his own son to die in a brutal way, rather than create an alternative plan based on less blood shed.

To think that Satan has only killed 7 people in biblical times seems ridiculous to me. Furthermore, How Jesus died so that we can receive salvation seems irrelevant. God didn't sacrfice his Son in the same way you would have if you were God.....big deal. It baffles me when people have the mindset of, ' If I was God I wouldn't have done it that way and therefore he isn't God or the God that I want to believe in.'.

It's pretty simple why Satan gets a bad wrap from a Christian vantage point and I guess it's no surprise that people would embrace Satan over God. IMO, Satan is probably laughing at people when they do so. Why? Because I believe that we are on this earth to bear witness to Christ and our lives, when lived in accordance to His will, bring honor and glory to God. To destroy human life robs God of that glory. I can't help but see that Satan is partially to blame when you see serial killers, genocide, and even less conspicuous forms of evil.
Quote:

John 8:44
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

2 Corinthians 4:4
4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

2 Corinthians 11:3
3 But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

Ephesians 6:11-18
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

James 4:7
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

1 Peter 5:8-9
8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

How can there be honor & glory when he brings so much death? YOu say that Satan is to blame but your God created Satan & let him do those very things.
