Misconception:Why Allah is "He" in the Quran Translation? (my requwst to all) (tradition, choice)

Actually you are correct Summia. As a person who openly claims to have seen God and still sees the afterglow of that incredible presence I will often chide people who go on at length about God. Frankly there is no possible way to describe that incredible view in earthly terms. It IS both arrogant and pompous for anyone to claim that God is such and such because any and ALL words fall well short of the reality of that "presence".

Aside from this, clearly what you are trying so politely to tell us all is that it is futile to think of god in any form whatsoever. Be it that he is male or has a beard or whatever, which is like saying that the Empire State building is like a really big garden shed, as the words just do not do justice to the reality.

On the other hand it IS natural for mankind to render any concept into words so that we can communicate with each other but in our haste we try to pin down realities that are beyond our limited imaginations. Is that fair to say Summia?

What I am trying to communicate is that by referring to God as a "he" you ARE comparing God to a man just as much as you are by referring to God as having a beard. The two situations are the same in that they both evoke anthropomorphic comparison.

It is simply inconsistent to be offended by the notion of a beard but not by the notion of "him".

Every scripture is evident at the fact that God "There is nothing like Him, God is not man or an old man" if you wish I can put verses before you from all scriptures. Then as it is proved in the religious scriptures that are really source of RELIGIOUN then sayg about God "He has beard and chuckling (if he is he)" is matching to this example as you put " which is like saying that the Empire State building is like a really big garden shed,"

Yeah! really we aomtimes pin down realities, really I agree!

Look! some people have even not seen God (means they have never aproach up to the space) and even poeple have not travelled the whole universe and still claims "There is no God"

I'm simply trying to wipe out the misconception that many non Msulims have about Quranic Translaiton about "Why Allah is He not she or it"!

And while removing this confusion I 'm putting my request, if you think my request is not acceptable then don't accept. but don't put further about "Why Quran explains about God he and not she"

Without reading the entire post I will venture a clarification for my sister summia. I believe the real point of what she is saying is that she has come across the notion of anthropomorphic descirptions in regards to Allah, simply because of the use of the word "he". For a muslim, the use of the word he is a matter of convinience of speech and translation only. It does not imply to us that Allah has any physical resemblance to His human creation. I think she may have been trying to clarify that point, and addressing it to people who may be using the word for a derogatory term, and not merely out of the habit most of us have.

I don't really think she wants anyone to do anything per se... I think she is just bringing it to the fore. Of course as always all are free to disagree with that.
