Quote:
Symbols are the tools that allow us to explore our existence. They offer us meaning in the midst of meaninglessness. There is meaning because we exist, and even if the only meaning of existence is to exist and observe, there is meaning. Quote:
Everything exists forever because it exists. I will not die, only change form. My consciousness? Well, the schemata of my reality will still exist. Will I continue to be conscious of it? I don't know. But I can't see it slipping away into nothingness when nothingness is the same as everythingness...

There are many subjective realities, and until we can directly perceive the underlying, unitary Reality we have to live in the world we're dreaming and accept this as 'our' reality.
I agree in part, with your assertion that "everything exists forever..." Guitar, but when you go on to state that you will "change form" you create some confusion due to mixing levels of reality. At an Objective level the co-ordinates of your current existance will always exist. Anyone accessing the multiple geometric axes -- anytime, anywhen -- of your current reality will be you, pecking assiduously at your keyboard with one hand while sipping gourmet coffee with the other to ward off the Maine chill. It's difficult to discuss eastern philosophies or physics in a language that structures a 3rd-state perception of time as reality in it's grammar. Words like "change," "forever," "still," &c presuppose the passage and reality of time as we perceive it. Tense is a trap as well. |
