Bible storis for Kids-inaccurate.
I found a "Bible for children" book at home, and flicked through it. it was explaining the Genesis story of the world's creation. Fair enough. Then it moved on to Adam and Eve, and how the serpent tempted them.
God turned around and said "serpent, you are evil and have been used by Satan to befoul my creations. You will now slither across the ground on your belly", and turned the serpent into a snake. :S Now, this book is fairly big, but where did it mention Satan before the Adam and Eve story? Nowhere. How are these young readers to know what or who Satan was? One minute the world was created, and then the next, God was calling things "Satan's creatures". Just me, or would that throw off young kids? You don't have to answer, but I just want to know what kind of book would promote this.

I imagine that most children reading this book already have a concept of what "Satan" is from church and most of popular culture. They know that he's "the bad guy".

This book is so dumb. it's like a picture book for 5 year olds. It even says on the cover.
But, where did Satan come from. I didn't think he was evil THAT early..

Well at some point, in Christian sprituality, Satan aka Lucifer fought and lost his war against Heaven and was cast down into Hell. I think this was supposed to have happened before Genesis but i'm not certain. It's just indoctrinating the concept of the war between good and evil.

Completely off topic here, but I bought a book for children about religion for my kids. Explains the various major world religions and what they believe and do. I think it's important to teach children other religions and let them choose what they believe.
