Not much, really.

I can agree that, as Aristotle had said, "Man, by nature, desires knowledge". We are naturally curious. I suppose that asking philosophical and scientific questions could be one naturally appropriate purpose in life, though only one out of many.

the light in this quote can be seen as a Metaphorical thing. Light would represent knowledge, truth and enlightenment whilst the darkness would represent things ignorance and suffering. the light repesents us becoming more then just Existing, to give a purpose to life and to become more then what we are.

To me this is can be a very luciferian view is seen symbolically in that way.

I interpret it as the building of relationships. Without relationships (associations, language--as Doppelganger would say) there is only a simultaneous understanding of everything and nothing. Creating an association creates light in darkness as it seperates form from formlessness.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Human beings create "knowledge" (light) to bring order out of Chaos. This is "purpose". Embracing Chaos and uncertainty instead of fearing it and hiding from it, moves life beyond purpose. It is the gateway to eternity.

(metaphorically speaking, of course)
